Orthopaedic Surgeon
Mr. Shane Blackmore is an Australian qualified Orthopaedic surgeon. Shane was born in Melbourne and having completed his medical school training at the University of Melbourne he worked in his junior years at the Austin Hospital.
His local training involved working most public orthopaedic posts in Melbourne, including the three major orthopaedic trauma centres, the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Royal Children’s Hospital and the Alfred Hospital.
He has experience in all areas of orthopaedic practice and enjoys the management of general orthopaedic problems. His specific interests include shoulder and knee reconstructive surgery, joint replacement surgery and the management of fractures and soft tissue injuries.
He is consulting in both East Melbourne and Ringwood. He holds public appointments at the Austin Hospital, Maroondah Hospital and Swan Hill Hospital.
He regularly attends both local and international meetings. He has a strong interest in the teaching of orthopaedic surgery at both a medical school level and to his junior colleagues. Away from surgery he enjoys playing baseball, football and golf as well as spending time with his family.
